- Dust doors
With a damp cloth wipe any dust and grime on doors before beginning to deep clean and remove pesky items stuck to cabinets.
- Remove & Soak Hardware
Kitchen hardware is a small item that many overlook. Though, this is where a lot of the grease and stickiness is due to regular use. Remove your sticky handles and soak in a bowl with warm water with dish soap.
- Scrubbing
In a bucket create a solutions consisting of half a cup of white vinegar, four tablespoons of olive oil, 6 drops of essential oil of your choice (we suggest orange essential oil as it’s a good degreaser and has antibacterial properties) and 4 cups of warm water for a natural grease busting concoction with things found around your home. Once mixed and scrubbed well, remove hardware from the bucket and dry with cloth to remove any solution.
- Reassemble
Once hardware is completely dry reassemble back onto cabinet doors. Your cabinets should now be sticky, dirt and grease free.
Long-term Reduction of Dirt
Consider how you use your kitchen. Is it just for cooking or a central hub where many members of the home – and guests – are always going in and out of the kitchen? If you do quite a bit of baking or canning this type of cooking can result in sticky residue and if not cleaned regularly it can cause a build up die to grease. So regularly cleaning is key for a sparkling clean kitchen. Also keep hand wash and sanitiser in the kitchen for everyone to use before eating. This will also help to reduce the likelihood of grease and dirt travelling around the kitchen. We suggest wiping cabinets down once a week and conducting a deep clean every 3-6 months for a spotless look and feel.
