I require a New Kitchen. Where do I start?
You’ve started correctly by coming to the Harrington Kitchens website. To renovate a new kitchen there is a series of steps involved, from designing, booking trades, installations and more. At Harrington Kitchens, we guide you every step of the way to make your kitchen renovation stress-free.
Your first step to a new kitchen is simply filling out our contact form or calling us to book a free design consultation. From there, one of our customer service consultants will contact you to ask a few quick questions and match you with the designer best suited to your needs.
The designer will then schedule a consultation with you, this can take place at your HOME or in one of our showrooms. Before your initial consultation, we recommend you download this free guide. This will help your designer understand your kitchen style and ideas clearly.
During your consultation, your dedicated designer will listen to your vision and begin putting together all the elements—along with costs—to present to you in a detailed quote.
Quotes are presented in our showroom. The reason we apply this approach is to create an interactive experience, where you can ask questions, explore materials, and make changes on the spot. You’ll see 3D visuals and approve every detail before anything is built.
It’s your vision brought to life with our expertise!
How much does a new kitchen cost?
The average cost of a kitchen renovation ranges from $20,000 to $100,000 or more. The price really is determined by the scope of the kitchen renovation, such as the size, measurements, materials, appliances and more. For example, a larger kitchen will require more materials to cover the larger space which will increase the cost.
Can I renovate my kitchen on a budget?
Every space and budget come with its own possibilities—and limitations. While you may have lots of ideas, your designer’s role is to help refine them, offering creative, practical solutions that align with your space and budget.
Once your budget is confirmed and aligns with the scope of your new build or renovation, our kitchen designer will guide you in achieving your ideal outcome while keeping within budget.
Do you offer payment plans or finance?
Currently, we do not offer any payment plans or financing options. Unlike many other companies that provide financing at high interest rates, we are working to create a finance option that genuinely benefits our clients. Please stay tuned for updates!
What's included in the price of a kitchen?
We can supply an all-inclusive quote that covers the design, cabinets, benchtops, trades, installation, and appliances. However, most clients choose to purchase their own appliances, as this allows for personal preferences or taking advantage of special deals.
At the beginning of your kitchen renovation, we will give you the option to acquire your own trades or accept our trades. If you choose to use our trades, their costs will be factored into our quote to you. This allows you to have an upfront cost to help coordinate your budget expectations. If, however, you opt to choose your own trades then these costs will not be included in our quotation.
Like any renovation, we do suggest a buffer of approx 10-20% for any unexpected issues that may occur. For example, faulty wiring could be an unexpected cost that nobody can prepare for. Having a buffer allows preparation for the unexpected.
What is a polyurethane kitchen?
Check out our video below explaining the process of creating a profiled polyurethane kitchen.
Will Harrington Kitchens work to update my existing kitchen? For example replace my existing kitchen doors and benchtops?
The short answer is no. There are several technical reasons why we do not recommend re-facing existing kitchen doors and benchtops.
In our experience, the time involved and the compromises necessary to re-face a kitchen often lead to an uneconomical choice and can result in a less-than-ideal outcome.
It’s important to understand that remodeling your existing kitchen can cost 70-80% of the price of a complete kitchen renovation. As a result, investing in full kitchen renovation can often be the best long-term choice for increasing the value of your home.
How long will it take before I have a fully operational kitchen?
A fully operational kitchen, including design, craftmanship, paint and installation, can range between 6 to 12 weeks. Smaller kitchen renovations can be completed in less time, while larger or more complex renovations can take longer.
Once your quote is accepted and the deposit is paid, your kitchen designer will prepare a timeline and begin coordinating the work needed to complete your custom kitchen or joinery project.
Can I see a 3D design before committing?
Absolutely! Before any construction begins, we provide a quote that is presented in our showroom. This creates an interactive experience where you can ask questions, explore materials, and make changes on the spot. During this presentation, you will also see your 3D design.
Do you handle installation, or do I need to hire a separate installer?
Yes, we can! Harrington Kitchens has a full Kitchen renovators license, allowing us to include and manage all trades within our contract. If a contractor or company does not have a full kitchen renovators license, they will not be able to include trade works within their quote, leading to grey areas and more work for you.
Do you only do Kitchen Renovations?
In addition to our kitchen renovations, we specialise in designing and building custom spaces tailored to your needs, including offices, studies, laundries, fireplaces, wine cellars, walk-in wardrobes, and built-in storage solutions, as well as all types of cabinetry. If you’re looking to add extra cabinetry to your kitchen makeover, feel free to reach out and ask!
Is Harrington Kitchens just a showroom, or do they manufacture their own kitchens within Australia?
We are both! We have two showroom locations in Narellan and Bowral. Our Narellan location includes our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility where all of our kitchens and joinery projects are produced. We are 100% Australian-owned and operated and have proudly provided thousands of custom kitchens for happy families for over 30 years.
What is a Kitchen Showroom?
A kitchen showroom is a dedicated space where customers can explore kitchen designs and features like handles, stone benchtops, tapware, and more. It also serves as a place for kitchen manufacturers to showcase their craftsmanship—allowing you to see firsthand how their kitchens are built and the quality of the finished product.

Proudly Australian-made and Owned, all our cabinets and joinery projects are not only manufactured but also painted and assembled in our state-of-the-art, fully automated kitchen manufacturing facility in Narellan, NSW.
Is my Harrington Kitchen going to be custom made to suit me?
Yes! When you choose Harrington Kitchens, you’re choosing a one-of-a-kind experience, where no two kitchens are ever the same. We don’t mass-produce, cookie-cutter modular kitchen cabinets which often leads to design compromises.
Our expert kitchen designers listen to how you live and create custom kitchen designs that suit your style, space and needs from the very first sketch.
Every cabinet, panel, and piece of joinery combines modern precision with traditional craftsmanship. All custom made in our kitchen manufacturing facility in Narellan by skilled Australian craftsmen.
What areas does Harrington Kitchens service?
We provide services throughout the Sydney metropolitan area and beyond! Our kitchen solutions extend to the Macarthur district, Camden, Campbelltown, Picton, Narellan, Southern Highlands, Wollondilly Shire, Sutherland Shire, and the Blue Mountains, and reach as far as the South Coast and Northern Beaches.
How can I make the most of my kitchen storage?
With custom made cabinetry, you’re not limited to standard cabinet sizes that often come with pre-made choices. This allows us to utilise every ounce of space in your area. As part of our process, we measure your space to create the best storage solutions and ensure a smooth flow throughout your kitchen design.

What's the difference between custom and flat-pack kitchens?
The difference between custom and flat-pack kitchens is quality, design flexibility and service. While flat-pack options have improved over the years, there are still limitations such as size, design and style. For example, a flat-pack will arrive in a series of boxes and you must unpack and install yourself. With a custom made kitchen, you get more options in size and design, plus a personalised service where we install your kitchen and leave no mess behind.
Can I keep my existing kitchen appliances?
Yes! You can keep your existing appliances. Our kitchen design team will take precise measurements to ensure your custom cabinetry fits perfectly with your design and existing appliances.
Do you supply and install appliances?
When it comes to certain appliances, we often turn to the retailer for installation. This choice is made because their installers are specifically trained to guarantee a proper setup of the appliance. Plus, it also extends your warranty. For instance, with high-end appliances like Sub-Zero refrigerators, we prefer to have the retailer handle the installation to ensure the best result for the client.
Can my fridge, oven, or dishwasher be built-in?
Integrated appliances such as refrigerators, ovens, and dishwashers are becoming increasingly popular in modern kitchen design.
These seamless solutions not only enhance your kitchen’s aesthetic with a cohesive, streamlined look but also provide practical benefits like saving space and improving functionality.
Please note, only specialised appliances that are designed to be built into cabinetry can be integrated.
Our team specialises in providing high-quality integrated appliances that seamlessly blend into your cabinetry, allowing for a more refined and organised kitchen environment.
Can I choose my colours and finishes?
When you choose a custom made kitchen, you’ll find we provide an extensive selection of colours and finishes. With our in-house painting facility, we can colour-match your specific preferences and also offer hand-painted finishes, which are a hallmark of many French Provincial Kitchens.
As for finishes, the only exception is that we generally do not provide thermolaminated finishes. We’ve found that this option doesn’t align with our commitment to quality. Since we design kitchens to stand the test of time, we believe that thermolaminated finishes simply do not meet our high standards.
