Hello and welcome to the Winter 2022 Quarterly Update and Harrington Kitchens newsletter.
Well, we have definitely had more than the usual amount of rain over the past few months! While I am sure there are some who are enjoying it, there is no doubt that the consistent downfalls pose challenges and interruptions to others. As the popular saying goes, “everything in moderation” so let’s hope we see a balancing of the scorecard between rain and sunshine in the months ahead. It’s looking like there’ll be plenty of snow in the ski fields this year which is exciting, and we hope that it is the start of a bumper season for all the businesses in the alpine regions who have been severely impacted by covid over the past couple of years.
As we head into the colder months, our sales and production levels are still quite high, and the building and renovation sectors continue to be busy. We have noticed that the market has eased a little recently, which is likely due to the federal election as well as the rise in interest rates but there are still plenty of amazing new kitchen projects to keep us busy!
We are happy to report that all of our suppliers continue to keep up with the existing levels of demand and thankfully covid is not currently impacting our staffing levels as much as it has in the past. Both of these factors make a big difference when it comes to managing our workload.
The most popular trend in kitchens at the moment is still very much centred around “Colour Colour Colour”. White and neutral tones remain dominant, but we’ve noticed that splashes of colour and/or highlights of timber are appearing on most people’s kitchen wish list. Perhaps this is reflective of our flourishing optimism and positivity as we continue to bounce-back from the challenges of recent times.
Well-designed lighting is a must when planning your new kitchen. In particular, downlights installed under top cabinets and in pantries. This can make a huge difference when it comes to effectively lighting your kitchen space.
