It’s still a little hard to believe that we have been given this amazing honour. Although, we do think that we are pretty great at what we do, it is definitely nice to have it officially recognised and validated in an official capacity!
At Harrington Kitchens, we take so much pride in working hard everyday to deliver kitchen design products and services of the highest quality to our valued clients. Winning this prestigious award is such wonderful recognition of our team’s never-wavering efforts. We are so grateful to have such an amazing group of professionals representing our brand and living our values through the exemplary work that they do every day.
From the designers and support staff in the office, to the technicians and tradespeople in the factory, and the installers and after-service teams in the field, our sincerest thank you. We appreciate each and every one of you and the effort and commitment that you consistently demonstrate. You are what makes our locally-based, family-owned business worthy of competing (and winning!) on the national stage.
What are the Australian Small Business Champion Awards?
As the only recognition awards programme that celebrates the achievements and considerable economic, social and cultural contribution of today’s 2.5 million small business operators from across the country, the Australian Small Business Champion Awards specifically highlights the finest small businesses in the retail, services, and manufacturing industries.
2024 was the most successful programme in the awards history, with a record 5,500 small business submissions from cities as well as rural, regional and suburban towns in every Australian state and territory.

Over 100 small businesses were honoured at the 2 National Presentation Evening gala events held on 12 – 13 April 2024 at Sydney’s The Star. More than 2000 small businesspeople – including business owners, their employees, family and suppliers – attended across the 2 evenings.
Unfortunately, we were unable to attend the “Oscars of Small Business” to accept our award in person, but it was such an incredible honour to be recognised as an industry leader for Kitchen Improvement in Australia. We certainly look forward to hopefully having the opportunity to be part of the amazing celebrations in 2025 and the years beyond.
The Application & Judging Process
Entries for the Australian Small Business Champion Awards span over 100 different categories and are adjudicated by an independent panel of judges from a variety of industries and associations who have relevant experience or understanding of operating a small business.
The submission process requires eligible businesses to provide responses covering a range of topics from products/services offered, history of the business and recent success, customer service and commitment to quality, marketing activities and staff development to commitment to the local community, environmental sustainability and what makes your business an industry leader.
Such a comprehensive suite of questions means that in order to be considered as a finalist, applicants really have to excel across a range of aspects when it comes to running a business, not just one or two, or even three.
Harrington Kitchens’ achievements in, and commitment to, all aspects of doing business and being awarded the WINNER of the 2024 Australian Small Business Champion Award for Kitchen Improvement is a huge validation of everything that owner, Mark Clarke, and his team value and work so hard for.
