Heritage-Inspired Family Kitchen Croydon Park
Situated in the historic suburb of Croydon Park, this heritage home became a cherished project for Ali & Zeinab and their growing family. Their vision was to thoughtfully redesign the kitchen and supporting spaces as part of a significant family extension, carefully balancing the charm and character of the original home with the functionality required for modern-day living.
At the heart of the kitchen is a custom timber island, proudly handcrafted by our master craftsmen and designed as a true centrepiece within the home. Featuring detailed decorative timber panelling and a beautifully crafted lamb’s tongue edge profile, it introduces warmth, depth, and a refined sense of traditional craftsmanship. Its generous proportions create a natural gathering point for both everyday family life and entertaining.
Surrounding the island, soft-toned cabinetry in a Beige Royal 30% satin polyurethane finish in a Waratah profile brings a calm, elegant softness to the space. The subtle 3mm pencil-round edge detail refines the overall joinery, enhancing the tailored and timeless aesthetic. A double run of overhead cabinetry maximises storage while maintaining a seamless, composed feel throughout.
Set beneath the large window sill, the Novi 75 sink is positioned to take full advantage of natural light, paired with a refined gold gooseneck mixer tap that introduces a subtle layer of warmth and luxury. This considered placement not only enhances functionality but creates a beautiful moment within the workspace, connecting daily tasks to the outdoors.
Adding further architectural presence, a custom Colorado-style mantle frames the cooking zone, creating a striking focal point that anchors the space.
Functionality has been carefully considered at every level, with dual pantries featuring internal drawers, a Pullboy bin system, integrated cutlery inserts, utensil trays, and dedicated storage accessories that ensure everyday living remains effortless and beautifully organised.
The result is a kitchen that feels timeless, welcoming, and deeply connected to the character of the home, where traditional craftsmanship and modern family living exist in perfect balance.

The laundry and supporting utility spaces continue this design language with the same level of refinement and attention to detail typically reserved for the main kitchen. The joinery, matching the Waratah profile seen throughout the home, is finished in a sophisticated 30% satin polyurethane in Dulux Bladed Grass, bringing a soft, heritage-inspired tone to the space.
Thoughtfully planned storage is seamlessly integrated, including a full-height return pantry with shelving, generous linen and broom storage, and a dedicated mud room zone featuring two drawers and overhead cabinetry, ensuring daily essentials remain beautifully organised yet discreetly concealed.
Practicality is further elevated through a concealed Häfele ONE2 triple hamper system, delivering efficient laundry management without compromising the calm, streamlined aesthetic of the space.
Finishing details such as wall-mounted cabinetry with an oval gold rail introduce a quiet layer of luxury, enhancing both function and visual warmth, resulting in a laundry that feels considered, composed, and effortlessly aligned with the broader home design.
