Modern Provincial Style Kitchen Cobbitty
Tucked away in the picturesque developing area of Cobbitty, this newly constructed home for a growing extended family has become a cherished project for our client. Their goal was to create a nurturing environment where everyone could thrive and grow together.
The kitchen, brimming with natural light, boasts a modern provincial design that makes it an open-plan oasis—the true heart of the home. Given that this was a custom build of the entire house, including a granny flat, we had the unique challenge of designing two kitchens, a laundry, and a mud room for spaces that were yet to be built.
In the main kitchen, the abundance of natural light made a soft, neutral colour scheme the perfect choice, blending beautifully with the rest of the house. Our clients chose calming shaker-style cabinets in Dulux lexicon quarter and porters mist, which is a bright white colour, resulting in a clean, fresh look. The lower drawers have special v-groove panelling that adds depth and character, and everything is enhanced by Hettich soft-close features for ease of use.
A standout feature in the kitchen is the island, which is elegantly covered in a beautiful YDL Zero Silica Blanca Divino stone that has a soft white base with delicate grey patterns. This stunning design makes it a focal point of the space.
It’s truly the finer details that elevate this kitchen design. The elegant cross on the island beautifully complements the custom-lit cross glass frames in the upper cabinets above, along with the selected cross detailing in the bar stools that tie everything together perfectly.
For added functionality, the kitchen features a Cove 85 Fireclay Butler Sink paired with a stylish gooseneck tap, and a Smeg Victoria freestanding oven accompanied by a custom-made rangehood. There’s also a cleverly hidden pantry equipped with a Novi 50 fireclay (butler’s sink) for the ultimate convenience.

In the laundry, the Shaker cabinets continue with Dulux Lexicon Quarter strength white, harmonizing with the YDL Rosemere benchtop. The mudroom adds a splash of colour with Porter’s Hamptons Blue, making a delightful space.
For the granny flat, we made the most of the U-shaped area by continuing the shaker style with matching cabinetry. The client wanted built-in appliances for a sleek appearance, so we incorporated a pull-out pantry for easy access to cooking essentials. The benchtop, YDL Zero Silica Calcutta Combo, features a stunning white stone with gentle grey veins, creating a beautiful effect.
The spaces came together beautifully, resulting in an incredible home that will be enjoyed for many years to come.
