The Grand Classic Kitchen Castle Hill
Some kitchens follow trends. Others are designed to feel as though they’ve always belonged.
As part of a full home renovation, Tina’s vision was beautifully clear. She wanted a kitchen that wasn’t driven by fashion or mass production, but one that felt collected, timeless and deeply personal. A space with character. A kitchen layered with thoughtful details that would continue to reveal themselves for years to come.
Inspired by classical design, this grand kitchen balances traditional craftsmanship with the practicality of modern family living.
Drawing your eye from the moment you enter the room is the custom rangehood, complete with handcrafted mantle detailing that anchors the entire space. Every element has been carefully considered, from the proportions to the intricate joinery, lending the room a sense of permanence that feels effortlessly elegant.
Finished in Dulux Vintage Beige with a subtle 10% matte polyurethane finish, the Chiefly profile cabinetry brings warmth and softness to the home. Complementing the cabinetry are Orson Solid Brass knobs and handles in Satin Brass, adding just the right amount of warmth without overwhelming the palette. The matching Turner Hastings Ludlow Bridge Mixer carries the same refined detailing through the space.
At the heart of the kitchen sits an oversized island designed for the way this family lives. More than a preparation space, it’s where conversations unfold, children gather, and guests naturally gravitate. Decorative pillars, proud kickboards and beautifully crafted detailing give the island furniture-like presence, while generous storage, an integrated bin system and thoughtful functionality ensure it works just as beautifully as it looks. A Turner Hastings Cove 85 Fireclay Butler Sink adds another layer of classic charm, pairing beautifully with the natural stone and traditional detailing.
The island is crowned with Toscano Marble from Avant stone where soft layers of warm brown, earthy beige and creamy ivory sit together in quiet luxury. Chosen not only for its beauty but for its durability, the stone runs unbroken from benchtop to splashback, a detail that feels both bold and understated at once.
To let the cabinetry remain the hero, both the refrigerator and dishwasher have been fully integrated behind matching cabinetry fronts. Framing the kitchen are two beautifully curved display cabinets that almost mirror one another. One showcasing delicate mesh inserts, the other concealing an appliance garage behind mesh and glass, keeping favourite pieces on display and everyday appliances tucked neatly away.
Inside every cabinet, premium Hettich Sensys soft-close hinges provide smooth, quiet operation, the same attention to detail found throughout the entire kitchen.
This is a kitchen built on quiet luxury, where craftsmanship is celebrated and every detail has purpose. Tina’s brief was a home that would still feel right in twenty years. Standing in it now, it’s hard to imagine it any other way.
