Timeless Classic Kitchen Bundanoon
Renovating an older home demands determination, vision, and an unwavering commitment to preserving its character while quietly elevating it for present-day living. This stunning cottage home, nestled in the picturesque Bundanoon countryside, held plenty of character, just waiting to be brought back to life.
Four years ago, Liam and Jacob took on the awe-inspiring challenge of thoughtfully reimagining their house & turning it into a home. At the centre of it all sits a beautifully crafted Harrington Kitchen, designed to feel completely at home within the space, while elevating how the home is used every day.
Their brief was clear: to create a classic kitchen that brings together traditional craftsmanship with the ease of everyday living. A space where function leads, every detail has purpose, and the overall feeling remains warm, welcoming, and in keeping with its surroundings.
Careful consideration was given to layout and proportion. Symmetry plays a quiet yet defining role, creating a sense of balance throughout, while the island anchors the room, encouraging a natural flow for both movement and connection. More than a place for seating, the island offers generous storage, elevated by thoughtful detailing including proud kicks and refined lamb’s tongue edging.
The cabinetry finished in Dulux Linseed was carefully selected to reflect the home’s character, with Waratah and flat panel profiles working in quiet harmony. Finished in a warm, brushed hand-painted tone, this signature detail elevates the entire space. Applied by our skilled hands, it introduces a subtle texture that can’t be replicated by a machine, bringing depth and softness to the joinery.
Modern functionality has been seamlessly integrated. A statement Belling 900mm CookCentre Deluxe Dual Fuel Glass Range Cooker is framed by a custom-built rangehood, housing a discreet Ariston undermount. Fully integrated appliances, including an ASKO dishwasher and Fisher & Paykel integrated refrigerator, ensure the overall aesthetic remains uninterrupted.
Encouraging you to pause, a 1901 Ribbleton Butler Sink paired with the Astra Walker Olde English Kitchen Set sits perfectly beneath the window, drawing in natural light and creating a quiet, considered moment within the space.
Set to the side, an appliance cupboard with a delicate mesh insert balances practicality with charm, reinforcing the connection between function and form.
Materiality plays a central role in defining the kitchen’s character. Surfaces in AC Stone Arabescato Corchia introduce a refined, marble-like elegance, while subtle details such as lamb’s tongue edging, a gently curved splashback, and stone shelving add layers of craftsmanship that reveal themselves over time.
The result is a kitchen that feels enduring and considered, where classic detailing meets modern living, and every element has been thoughtfully composed to stand the test of time.
